Childcare Services
At Laurentian Child and Family Centre, we provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, play, and grow. Our programs support each child's development while offering fun and engaging experiences in a welcoming community.
Unique Facilities
Situated on Laurentian University's campus, our centre offers access to the Laurentian Planetarium, the running track, and the gymnasium.
Flexible Scheduling
Open for before and after school care, as well as during March Break and Professional Development Days.
Standardized Fees
Caring for children from birth to age 12, with standardized, reduced fees for children up to 6 years of age through the CWELCC program.
Hours of Operation
Open year-round, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays), with at least two annual closure days for staff professional development.

Our play-based approach views every child as a competent, capable thinker, fostering curiosity and unlocking rich potential through engaging, high-quality learning experiences.

Embracing our scenic environment, we weave the richness of nature into everyday activities, providing outdoor adventures and experiential learning for all children.
Wholesome Meals for Happier Kids
Our dedicated On-site Cook brings over 25 years of experience to the kitchen. Meals and snacks are prepared from scratch using wholesome, pure, and seasonal ingredients.
- Limited processed items on our menu.
- Most baked goods are made from scratch and are low in sugar or sugar-free.
- Rotational seasonal menus for variety and freshness.

Our Staff
Our qualified team fosters a nurturing, home-like environment. Every staff member is certified in First Aid and CPR, and all remain up-to-date on recommended immunizations. Our key roles include:
Centre Director
Oversees all programs, manages staff, and addresses family needs.
Management Team
Our management team includes a Centre Director, an Office Administrator, and two Team Support Coordinators, who work together to manage and operate both locations.
Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs)
Certified and trained to provide a safe, engaging, and enriching learning environment for the children.
Volunteers & Placement Students
Provide additional support in the playrooms under the direct supervision of a qualified Educator.
On-Site Cook
Dedicated on-site cook creating fresh, from-scratch meals and snacks from high-quality, seasonal ingredients.
